Haere Ra New Zealand

So my time in New Zealand comes to an end. My final days I have spent in Auckland the largest city of the country, where I have enjoyed the backpacker heavy city centre around Queens street, but also the harbor front, an only 600 years old vulcanic island Rangitoto and got a crash course in paragliding!

Massive limosines they have here 😉

I also had a little encounter with the tropical cyclone Lucy that hit New Zealand over the weekend, spoiling my attempt to get all the way up to Cape Reinga, the most northern point of New Zealand. I only made it as far as Paihia and the bay of islands, where we had to take cover in the local bar/disco all night to get out of the storm...

In Paihia I was fortunate to meet some very nice people, Ciaran, Ryan and Hannah and we spend the next couple of days enjoying the warm up to St. Patricks day in Auckland!

But now it is time to say goodbye or Haera Ra! A last look out over Auckland as I leave for the airport...

Coming up after 10 hours of flight will be a 6 night visit to the fantastic city of Singapore! Everyone I have talked to lights up in a big smile when this city is mentioned and I can't wait to see for myself!

I'm gonna be meeting up with some friends here in Singapore, both old and new and the plan so far is to visit the skybar and infinity pool at the top of marina bay sands hotel, go to the beach on santosa island, have a singapore sling at Raffles and do a treetop walk through the botanical gardens.. But we will see!
